Bistek Tagalog is popular in the Philippines. Anywhere you go, it's like fried chicken that you can always order and available in every carenderia you go to. It's popular and known for its good taste and perfect start for morning meals! Now, today in The Public Servers, we are going to teach you how to cook your Filipino Style Bistek Tagalog!

Lemon Bistek Tagalog Ingredients


One half kilogram of breakfast steak cut of beef

(1) lemon, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)

(2) small red onions, peeled, sliced into rings

One half cup of water

(1/4) cup soy sauce

ground black pepper, (to taste)

cooking oil, (for frying)

How to cook?

1. In a saute pan over your medium-high heat, heat enough oil to cover the bottom. Add the following: thinly sliced beef, a few thin slices at a time, and cook until just cooked through then immediately remove from the oil. Set aside. Repeat in batches until all the beef are cooked through. Set aside. 

2. In the same pan, pour in water, soy sauce, lemon juice, and ground black pepper to deglaze the pan. Bring to a quick boil, then lower heat to a simmer. Once it simmers, return the beef and add onions to the pan and cook it until just heated through.

3. Serve while hot with huge of steamed rice. Enjoy!
